Summary:
Wasps are revered for being thrifty, productive, purposeful, methodical, orderly, organized, group workers, and have steady perseverance. These are qualities that I admire but after having a near-death experience with them, I have come to fear them. This project allowed me to embrace their qualities through bookmaking and create a work of art that honors them.
Materials:
Pre-published book titled "A Cup of Sun" by Joan Walsh Anglund (1967), pasted images and quotes, hand inked flowers with Micron pens, and constructed pop-up sunflowers in the front and back leafs.
